More than an App: Tech. Solutions Shaping the Industry
Overview
Technology is becoming an increasingly important part of how labor mobility works – from recruitment and language learning to public infrastructure and tools designed to solve specific gaps in the ecosystem. This session brings together a spectrum of builders to explore how different models, incentives and constraints shape the solutions they develop. Panelists will consider where private capital and public infrastructure can complement each other, where they may come into tension, and what it will take to bring responsible, effective technology to the workers who need it most.
Key questions
- What is technology actually good for in labor mobility – and where are its limits? Where does it fall on the range from “silver bullet” to “optional”?
- How do business models, funding and incentives shape the solutions builders create – and where can private capital and public infrastructure work together rather than in tension?
- Which parts of the mobility journey should stay human-led, or be explicitly protected from automation and algorithmic decision-making?
Who should join
Recruiters and recruitment agencies; employers; technology providers and founders; investors; policymakers and government agencies managing labor migration; training and language providers; and worker-focused organizations. Relevant to all stakeholders interested in how technology is reshaping mobility.
